HI 3shaper

I am having FREEZING Problem with 3shape abutment design 15.5 and 15.6, so I have to save every few second and when it freeze I have to ctrl+alt+. and end 3shape no reponding task and start a case again. and its happened when I updated 3shape and I downgrade the sw but still the same problem.

any help will be appreciated

Thank you

Can you run all other siftware with no issue at all? That sounds much like a bad memory stick I had once. Try this well known program from a geek toolbox to verify your sticks are good if you like.

It's wikipedia entry is on this search if you are justifiably suspicious of a unknown. This search is where I got the link I gave you.

I ran into an issue with the software and the antivirus I was running. by chance do you have AVG on your computer. If so get rid of it.

Don't remember seeing you before. Greetings! Welcome!

AVG isn't all bad, but I did set it to not scan the non-executable Procera files in it's ignore file and folder list as they looked like some possible virus code by heuristics and slowed access during use since I set it to scan on file close. Norton however is the worst, most annoying piece of trash since Microsoft Bob..

I dont have any antivirus sw in my design pc, I do have a lot of implant dme imported

JMN,
Been a member for a while but recently came back and getting more involved. I had issue that slowed, stalled and kicked me out of the Software. Once I removed it, the problem was solved. Whipmix told me they new of another lab who had the same issues. I havent updated yet to 2015 because of issues I have heard about. Now I use essentials and all is good but then again I am using medit scanner over my old 3 shape.

I had the same issues. I ended up ordering a new tower with a better graphics card, dual processors and more ram. I feel the graphics and processors where the key. Have not had the errors or headaches since. 3shape has been running great.

You might want to run your task manger window and watch the performance of your CPU.

Did you upgrade from 2014 or previous version of 2015 when these issues appeared?

Some implant manufacturers have different version of their DME for 2015.

Does it happen on all platforms or just some?

Kristian,
I was running 2014 and upgraded my my AVG. that's when stuff started to happen. I ended up having whipmix re-enter the program and then had to have my implant DME's reloaded for some of the implant companies. I think my AVG did something when it ran at night. Once removed I didnt have any more issues. It was recommended to me not to upgrade to 2015 at this time.

I have a freezing issue only on 2014 2.9.9.5 but on my 2015.5.0 no issues and I have a load of implant libraries imported as well. I found not trying to do too many moves rapidly helps. I have had it happen back to back to back once, I just try to make sure nothing big is also eating away at memory or cpu usage. No streaming youtube or pandora or downloading things, etc.

It sounds like you need to backup your database on an external folder on your desktop, wipe EVERYTHING

3Shape {3Shape folders in the - C:, Program Files, Program Files (x86), and Program Data (hidden folder)} , everything SQL, and do a

fresh install. I actually just did that and it's improved the performance of my computer. What happens is when you keep installing over your

current version, some file hierarchies get broken and mess things up. So the software is looking in a particular file path, and the chain is

broken. This shouldn't take your support any more than 30 mins on a teamviewer session. Restart the computer after they've wiped everthing

before the actual install. Make sure you export all of your current libraries, materials, settings, etc before you do this, or

you'll have to start all over!! Just make sure your support backs everything you need up before you do any of this.

thank you guys for ur help, I install a lot of dme, may be the reason of freezing?

I just did what I was talking about this week Sevan, and it's been a drastic change!

Abutment designs aren't freezing up, model builder is working properly. Makes my

workflow actually flow. Haha.

Hey all, not sure if this has been covered yet but earlier this year I bough a HP PC replaced my old dell. More RAM Better everything, I purchased this PC right from their website. When I got everything set up and tried to design my first case I experienced the abutment 'Freezing Issue" so I did some digging and a contact at 3shape of mine told me my graphics card was too ''powerful". I had the quattro k2000. Which is a very nice card. Turns out 3shape only supports nvidia Geforce cards and that is what caused all the issues while designing implant related designs. so check your card and make sure you have Nvidia Geforce, also attached is the PC specs that Brian from 3shape sent me.

Quadro cards are nVidia's professional CAD counterpart to GeForce cards which are intended for gaming. 3Shape's lack of support for Quadro has always been a bit puzzling.

K2000 is built on the same microarchitecture as GeForce 600 and 700 series.

I am running a quadro card on my rig I just know that 3shape is not exploiting it.

Yeah I know its reverse thinking on their part. They would not give me further support until i installed the right card. but after i got the card all the issues stopped so I guess the were right.
