Fire away. I think we've come a long way in just a few short months, thanks in large part to Brian Hyde - brother of the one and only Hydent! Thanks Bri ;)

Very pretty.......what kind of teeth?
The only thing I would do different is don't have the festooning (gingiva contour) come all the way down to the sulcus. Have the sulcus be as smooth as me with the ladies :) Great Job

Check out this website Hawkeye Dental Studio - Dental Iowa Cedar Rapids Iowa in the Gallery section. There is a wax up in there along with all the other cases to be viewed. Keep in mind, all the finish cases you see, were wax exactly as that. I do have a (Contact ) area if you have any questions.

I see you're on the road less travelled. I agree with with Rob's comment about the festooning, but that kind of thing comes with time. This is a really big improvement in your product, and you have every right to feel some satisfaction.
I appreciate your willingness to share where you're at... it's helpful to all of us.

Thanks guys. Hawkeye is spamming the s*it out of this board! Huh?!?

Labguy - those are Uhler premium teeth. Like em' for the economies.

We moved #8/9 'up' and shortened the sulcus. I feel you guys on the festooning. Brian is only 24 - so he has time to improve on what i feel is a very solid foundation. I guess if you've been doing it for 30 years, you get pretty damn good - huh?

Feel free to take the gloves off... Brian and I have thick skin. He's a big dude, so I'm 100% sure he could kick the sh*t out of Tom Z! popcorn :D

I believe this was a post for a critique of the wax-up. I am not spamming anything.
TomZ and myself did not get where are at today overnight. It takes a lot of hard work and time. I simply posted my website to help others out to what I feel is high end prosthesis. I would be glad to help anyone here out if they simply call or email. With the shortage of removable techs, I feel it would be an advantage to the younger technicians to accept this help.

Hi Danny,

I was just kidding! Glad to have you here. I look forward to learning from your experience.

There would be nothing left but my shoes...

Dont call me unless your waving some "hundos" or have your credit card handy.

Well see, I was wondering about this and glad to see you speaking up. How much do you guys get paid by the hour ?

Is it poor form to ask for help on a message board?

Not poor form but these guys and gals have spent years and years perfecting
and spending lots of money their craft. I just think from a business point of view you might have to open up your wallet a little for some of this stuff.
I hope what i write doesn't sound rude but I agree with TomZ (unless he was just joking and I read it the wrong way.) Never the less that's how I feel about it.....

Danny, don't take any of us too seriously here. We tend to give each other the business... once you get used to it, its easy to tell we've got a lot of smartasses on board.

How is the critiquing working thus far on the forum Ryan?;)

Haha.... Bart warned me! OK you were right....

UhlerPlus is $6.50/card and the UlherDents are a little more...

Both are nice teeth for the price. So far our patients seem to like them.

Michelle,

Yah it was a joke... I'm paying for guidance, don't worry about that...

Also, don't worry about me. I'm not your competition. I was thinking about trying to do a commercial lab, but we're so damn busy with my own work that it's not even a possibility right now. I'm bringing on a partner in a few months, so our lab technician is going to have more than enough work from just two docs....

That's a great job for a technician but please watch the stress factor. Right now everything is new, exciting and fun but in a few months those overnight dentures are wear thin on the poor tech and guess who'll have to stay late to finish them after Bart goes home ?:-)
You'll do well. If you ever decide to set up in Texas, I know a great place were a dentist just like yourself just retired. Don't know if he';s rented the building out or sold it but it's a great area.

Michelle-

If your interested in securing an educational venue I suggest contacting the individual privately for the fees. Its more than an hourly wage, and anyone offering education and owns a lab must weigh more than the fee and educational content into the formula since they are away from their labs and loved ones.

In the past I freely shared information online, that was when the forums were more personal and more like a fraternity, since most participants were a special group of technicians using internet technology when noboby else was.
But that has changed, and I really share very little online anymore. Spending my internet time building opportunities that take more than a screen and a free subscription for people to gain access to what i offer.
