Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to this community hoping to get some advice from professionals in the field.

I have over 8 years of experience working in an accredited dental laboratory, where I’ve specialized in CAD/CAM technology, digital design, and full lab management. I also hold a scientific degree (equivalent to a Master's, Bac +5), but unfortunately, I don’t have an official diploma in dental technology.

At this point in my career, I would like to regularize my status by obtaining an official diploma or some form of recognition for my skills and experience. My goal is to secure my professional future, possibly open my own lab, or work abroad.

I’m looking for guidance or suggestions regarding:

  • How to get my professional experience officially recognized;
  • Any fast-track or accelerated training programs for experienced technicians;
  • Information on equivalency, credential recognition, or VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience)

Any advice, shared experiences, or helpful resources would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time and support!

Best regards,
[zack]

You can test for your CDT in several specialties. Contact the National Board for Certification www.NBC.org

You don't need a diploma to test for your CDT, you've got over five years experience.
