Does anyone know someone who will offer technical support on the older Imes mills? We have a 4820 M1 that is out of calibration and needs to be corrected.

Did y'all have a collision that knocked things out if calibration or did it just lose calibration over time?

I was going to suggest Wieland since they sold that mill. But if this thread is correct they no longer support it. I am not sure why they would abandon support for products they sold so you still might want to call and ask. Maybe a friendly technician at the company can at least provide you with the calibration procedure/instructions.

It just lost it over time. It's been awhile since a calibration was done. It's milling thin at the moment.

Have you tried running multiple calibration blocks and see if it would get better?

Yeah, it seems crazy that they would quit supporting a mill that we bought in 2008. What's that say about all the mills we have now? Apparently there is no one in the states that will service the mill. So for now, it's a huge a$$ paper weight.

I have the calibration files to mill, but without the capability to make adjustments to the mill, it doesn't do me any good.

You can't enter the values yourself?

I never got any in depth training on that mill to do so.

When I get back to the lab wanna let me log on teamviewer?

Push it out the window and replace it with something newer. HAAS!! :D

How much do you want for that paperweight ?

ZZ, I did not know you collect paperweights.

Make an offer and I'll see what the bosses think. It has to be disassembled to get out of the building..unless we push it out the window

I'd buy it to scavenge some parts out of it...let me know what's it worth to you...:)
